The Q2 stats are out for the Australian streaming scene and it was pretty much the same as the last quarter, with only minor differences.
Thanks to data provided by streaming search engine JustWatch, we can finally see just how well each streaming service is doing in Australia for the second quarter of 2024.
Almost all of the platforms remained steady in terms of market share. The only change was Paramount+ gaining 1% from 8% to 9%, at the expense of the "Other" category.
In terms of changes in market share through the first 6 months of 2024, this is reflected in the second set of graphs shown below, with monthly changes shown in a slightly magnified fashion to show micro changes.
All of the major platforms seem to show some upward movement, minor as they are, with Foxtel Now and other smaller platforms going the other way. It's still too early in the year to make any trending conclusions from the limited data. We await the next quarter to see if things will change in the Australian streaming landscape.
