With Amazon Prime Video having just been launched in Australia, it's time once again to take a look at what's new on the Netflix (and now Stan) competitor. Note that the following information largely relates to the U.S. version of Amazon Prime, so not all content listed may be available in Australia.

Amazon original 'The Collection' (trailer) is set in Paris 1947, a family drama set in a post war Paris fashion house. Starring stage actor Richard Coyle and Tom Riley as competing entrepreneurial brothers Paul and Claude Sabine, with Frances de la Tour their formidable mother. Sumptuous dresses and bright colours pop against the grey, recovering Paris – hinting at escapist fantasy that comes with beautiful clothes. Originally released weekly in the USA in September 2016, this highly acclaimed drama will be available in on February 10.

Amazon Studios film Author: The JT Leroy Story (trailer) which was also released Sept 2016, shows us what we already know – fiction bestseller JT Leroy rise to fame and pop culture's new favourite, to a peek behind the curtains with candid interviews with Laura Albert. When New York Times article broke the story in 2006, Laura Albert was outed as the writer, and a family member played the avatar, the representation of JT Leroy that won adoration and fans. Released Feb 16.

Intriguing new release 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016), a young woman wakes up in an underground bunker, chained to the wall and finding another young man who has been 'rescued' from the outside world. Their captor (or rescuer?) adamantly maintains that the outside is dangerous – and he is keeping them all alive. Another must see from director J.J. Abrams (Star trek, Star Wars, Cloverfield)

Touched with Fire (2015) is the type of show that mugs you when you're not looking and suddenly draws you in. Katie Holmes and Luke Kirby play two beautiful souls, poets with bipolar, whom find in each other a group therapy session. Armed with a 'us against the world' attitude, Carla and Marco fight for their choices and their relationship.

Time travel back to classic spy films with a James Bond marathon – Amazon has added eleven Bond titles, ranging from Goldfinger (1964), You Only Live Twice (1967), Diamonds are forever (1971) Live and Let Die (1973), The Spy who Loved Me (1977), Octopussy (1983) and Never Say Never again (1983). (The Living Daylights has Timothy Dalton too.) That's probably seven classic Sean Connery Bond performances to please you. For younger Bond fans, there are two Pierce Brosnan offerings: The World is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002).

Creative Galaxy Heart Special is an Amazon original aimed at littlies, and family picks include old fashioned Care Bears movie (1984), Hook (Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman), and Yellowbird, (2014), a story of a young orphan bird who plucks his courage to fly a flock of friends to Africa.

Here's a complete list of what's coming to Amazon Prime Video in February.
