A new month on Stan, but not the usual huge list of additions as you would expect with a new month (the complete list of "What's New in August" can be found here).
There are still a few new additions to get your bandwidth going though, including the first season of sci-fi thriller Extant, plus new episodes of the usual suspects for those familiar with this feature.
For movies though, there are a couple of worthy additions this week. For those that want to get their drama on, look no further than August: Osage County, starring a great cast including Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts Ewan McGregor and Benedict Cumberbatch, it examines the complex family dynamic of the Weston family, a dysfunctional bunch forced back together through to a family crisis.
For a bit of creative sci-fi, make sure to check out Snowpiercer - the movie get weirder and weirder as you, and the protagonists, move forward through the movie and literally, with an ending that's sure to shock (or to disappoint).
Other recommended film additions include the hugely sentimental Winter's Tale, and Inch'Allah, which examines the Israeli, Palestinian conflict from the perspective of a Canadian doctor.
