Stan in August keeps up its weekly release schedule, with Mondays continuing with Roadies, Power and The Last Ship, and Tuesdays adding Angie Tribeca and unReal straight from US broadcast.
Let's unpack the list and set up our viewing schedule for the next few weeks.

Premieres:
RuPaul Gameshow Gay for Play, All episodes released August 23. RuPaul hosts a comedic trivia gameshow with a panel of celebrities who help contestants test their entertainment IQ for cash or prizes. Special guests include Carson Kressley, Todrick Hall, and Ross Mathews

Sutton Foster plays Liza, a 40 year old woman who undergoes a makeover to present as a 26 year old, to gain a foothold in the competitive publishing industry. As she builds momentum, Liza has to juggle her real life and her 'pretend' life. Written by Darren Star (who gave the world Sex and the City), Younger is a witty, fun feminist comedy that casts a wide net to an audience that ranges from young adulthood to female veterans. Also starring Hillary Duff and Miriam Shor. Season 1 & 2 is available Aug 17, with Season 3 scheduled to be added later in the year.

Binge:
Directed by JJ Abrams, Fringe is a sci fi show following investigators of the fictional Fringe Division of the FBI. Starring Anna Torv in the lead, with Joshua Jackson and John Noble, they begin to link more unexplained phenomena with a blend of science, crime drama and a possible alternate parallel universe.

Peep Show is a hilarious UK comedy following the adventures and dysfunctional lives of two flatmates, Mark (David Mitchell) and Jeremy (Robert Webb). When final season 9 is added on August 3, you can start from the beginning again to finish at the rollicking end!

Simon Pegg leads in Spaced with the creative brains behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Released in 2001, it's an insight into Simon and Nick's early work before their pulled their fingers out and started to exercise their writing chops.

Children:
The Gruffalo (2009) and The Gruffalo's Child (2011) are SVOD exclusive, coming on August 5. Based on the popular children's books by Julia Donaldson, these stories are familiar and easy to follow, sure to delight younger children.

Movies
Burnt (2015) – Starring Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Emma Thompson. Adam Jones is a top chef who's drug and alcohol problems choke his career. Starting from the very bottom, Adam's second chance comes when he becomes head chef of a fine dining restaurant.

The Tale of Love and Darkness (2015)– Natalie Portman's directorial debut. Spoken in Hebrew and filmed in Portman's home country Israel, this astounding drama based on the memoir of Amos Oz, a journalist and writer who advocates for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (trailer).

The Assassin (2015) – Set in lush ninth century China, an exiled assassin's courage is tested as she must choose between love or duty. The first period martial arts film from Taiwanese master Hou Hsiao-Hsien, this story is inspired by a Chinese folk tale of an assassin who must bring balance back to the Tang Dynasty. Winner of the Best Director of Cannes Film Festival 2015, prepare for cinematic landscapes, and a worthy addition to your must see kung fu list.
