The comparison between Amazon's hyper-budget "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" and HBO's "Game of Thrones" prequel series "House of the Dragon" was always inevitable, especially since both shows were released at around the same time.

And thanks to data collected by streaming search engine JustWatch (data includes subscription streaming as well as transactional streaming titles), we can compare just how popular each show has been on streaming platforms.

It's worth noting that while it seems "Rings of Power" conclusively beat "House of the Dragon" on streaming platforms, HBO's show was also available on traditional cable networks and other non-streaming outlets that aren't counted in JustWatch's data.

The data is in for the week ending September 11, 2022, and there was only one winner.

In Australia, "Rings of Power" was the second most streamed TV show for the week, beating "House of the Dragon" in third place.

Looking at the US charts, "Rings of Power" once again was ahead of "House of the Dragon", and it was again the second most streamed TV show for the week. "House of the Dragon", on the other hand, had to settle for a 7th place finish.

And finally, looking at the global situation, there is a clear winner here too. "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" not only beat "House of the Dragon", but it also beat everything else to become the most-streamed show for the week. "House of the Dragon" was third.
