Spy drama, space comedy, earth comedy and classic movies - read on to find all the stuff happening on Stan.
Three excellent complete series/mini-series for you this week in the form of Berlin Station, Six, and
Roots. All range from pretty good to excellent, in my opinion.
There is also the second part of the second (and unfortunately, final) season of PEN15. COVID-19 disrupted the season, but also allowed for the excellent animated special, but this special show is a must for anyone who lived through the '90s as a teenager.
The Red Dwarf special, Red Dwarf: The Promised Land, adds to the already comprehensive Red Dwarf library on Stan.
And just in time for Christmas, the "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" special Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas is worth a watch.
Some pretty good movie choices this week.
The first two movies in Richard Linklater's "Before Trilogy", Before Sunrise and Before Sunset has just been added. Let's just say that these are typical Richard Linklater movies and if you love those, you'll love these. The trilogy is a love story between Jesse and Celine, but the story unfolds in a way you would expect a real love story. I mean in the first movie, these two simple wander around an unfamiliar Vienna and talk, and you either find it boring, or captivating (I'm of the latter).
The other half of the 2013 "White House under attack" duo, Olympus Has Fallen was good enough to spawn two more movies, the second of which, London Has Fallen, is also available now. Don't expect too much and you might be surprised (probably not though).
Three classic movies to watch this week as well. Police Academy is a movie from a different time (the '80s), and having recently watched it again, it hasn't aged too well. But that's probably part of the appeal.
Jodie Foster rightly won an Oscar for her role in The Accused, while Eric Bana showed us his acting chops (editor: sigh) in Jonestown: The Women Behind the Massacre and Positive.
