It was all about the movies this past week on Stan. And when I say all the movies, I mean all the movies.
There were no new shows on Stan this past week. Not to say there weren't new content - there were plenty of new episodes for shows like One Of Us Is Lying, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and New Amsterdam - but no new titles. But that's okay, because ...
... there were plenty of movie highlights for this past week. In fact, every single title added is a highlight of sorts, as you'll see.
Starting with the newest of them all, the premise of Needle in a Timestack (trailer below) is just as silly as its title - an ex-husband invents a time machine to rip up the ex-wife's new marriage. The fact that it was only released theatrically on October 15 in the States and it's already now on Stan (and of course the current IMDb rating of 3.8), probably doesn't bode well for its quality. Still, if you like sci-fi and have 112 minutes to spare, it might be worth a go.
The Halloween part of this week's update includes the enjoyable Final Destination, The Conjuring 1 and 2 and almost all of the A Nightmare On Elm Street movies, missing a couple of the later ones and also Freddy vs Jason, and also a classic the form of Poltergeist.
I guess some might group Interview With The Vampire with the above, but this is a big-budget movies with the biggest stars, so it gets its own category.
The other highlights include Nic Cage in Joe, and the poignant Still Life.
For documentary fans, there's only The State of Texas vs Melissa, about the first Hispanic woman sentenced to death in Texas.
