Some great movie marathon picks, and more Underbelly movies. Read on to find out what else is new on Stan this past week.
Stan has become a niche place for foreign TV series, and this week's addition is A Good Man from Russia, based on the true story of a young detective arriving at a small town to solve a string of serial murders.
There is also a new season (season 2) of The Hangover Trilogy - just the kind of silly fun to wash the bad taste of the last year and a half away, when you're finally able to host another movie night with friends at your home. Another idea might be Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2, both just added to Stan this past week, along with Rush Hour 3 that was already here.
But with Halloween just around the corner, perhaps a Saw movie marathon is the most appropriate - I have no idea how many Saw movies there are now, but the first five have just been added to Stan.
Paul Thomas Anderson's Boogie Nights and Martin Scorsese's The Aviator are both showcases for great direction, so perhaps double for a more serious movie-connoisseur night.
"Underbelly" fans have three TV-movies to stream in the form of Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer Was Here, Underbelly Files: Infiltration, and Underbelly Files: The Man Who Got Away. And the "love him or hate him" Michael Moore's insightful documentary Where to Invade Next does make you appreciate how good we have it here in Australia (for some things, at least).
