Some awesome movie additions, awesome new TV shows, and that are just for starters. Let's take a look at what's been happening on Stan this past week.
No less than four new TV series have just arrived on Stan this past week.
The one I'm most looking forward to watching is One Of Us Is Lying, which just from the synopsis and the promo pics, looked like a dark, twisted version of "The Breakfast Club". The trailer (see below), seems to suggest otherwise, which is a shame because I think a dark, twisted version of "The Breakfast Club", with a murder thrown in, is a fantastic idea (copyright Streambly 2021). The first three episodes have already been released, with new episodes arriving weekly from now on.
The new British series Angela Black is all about a DV victim fighting back - new episodes coming weekly.
The darkly comic In My Skin, also from Britain, looks like an interesting one, as is Canada's Sort Of - both have their entire first seasons available for bingeing right now.
Quite a few good movie night choices this week. A Clockwork Orange is rightly considered a classic, and not just because it's one of Stanley Kubrick's films. Dead Man is a Johnny Depp film from his earlier indie days.
If you're looking for a good quality action flick, The Accountant might be your cup of tea despite the boring-sounding name.
There is also Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar, a movie I'm not sure I've watched or not, since I have some vague recollection of it.
Troy was the epic film with a star-studded cast that didn't really come off, I thought. It's decent, don't get me wrong, but could have been much more.
And finally, The Founder is back on Stan again. Watch this film and you'll either get a new appreciation for McDonald's, or you will hate them even more.
