There's a must-see movie that has just joined Stan and I suggest you drop everything (probably quite easy if you're furloughed at home like me) and watch it right away. It's that good!
But before we get to that, there are some quality TV shows that are available for streaming right now on Stan. A new season of the Stan Australian original series Bloom has arrived, and for those decrying the lack of quality Australian content, here it is. There's also a new season of The Last O.G., with new episodes arriving weekly for the third season.
Maybe it's too close to the nose, but you can stream the first (and only) season of the U.S. series Containment right now, all about an outbreak happening in a major U.S. city.
There's also the new series The Little Drummer Girl, from the director of the Korean masterpiece, Oldboy. New seasons of Utopia and the complete series of the "Stan Iconic" series Weeds is also here.
So the must-see movie is, of course, the Academy Award Best Picture winner Parasite. This masterpiece of a movie has so many layers and will stay with you for a very long time, even though it starts out very light-hearted.
There's also 2000's Shaft, not to be confused with the same-titled movie from last year that also stars Samuel L. Jackson. There's also the underrated Stardust, which if you recall my little story from last week, was also one of the titles that I picked up on HD DVD when the format went down (and unlike Norbit, I actually watched and enjoyed this one).
Then there's M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, which I have not watched and do not plan on any time soon. Apparently, it's quite bad, but if I ever fall into a masochist mood, then this, along with Gigli and Battlefield Earth, a go.
