Summer is finally here. Not here in Australia, but "here" in the U.S., where their version of Netflix has a lot of different content to ours, it's the start of summer. Let's take a look at what's new on U.S. Netflix in June.
For Australians (or non USA residents really) that want to access the US version of Netflix, which has if not more content, then at least different content than the local version, the best way to do that is described in our updated guide here. Sure, there are other ways, cheaper ways, but none more reliable than what we have tested (and what we are actually using for ourselves). And sometimes the opposite is true, and if you're in the US, you might also want to check out some of the stuff in the Australian version that you won't get back home - our method works the other way too!
And while Netflix's library is out of sync geographically, there are still a lot of the same additions regardless of where you are, especially when it comes to Netflix originals. And so this article focuses on content that you won't get in Australia or hasn't been covered by our 'Netflix Australia: What's New in June' article (and also some stuff already covered but so good that they deserve a second mention), and so a quick glance of that article is recommended as well.
Netflix's Brazilian original series '3%' is in its third season already. Set in a post-apocalyptic distant future, the show has attracted quite a following not just in Brazil. You can stream the entire third season starting June 7.
Also returning for a new season is 'Madam Secretary'. Season 5 premieres on June 30.
Netflix original film 'I Am Mother' (June 7) has the kind of premise that I really like - "A teenage girl is raised by a robot designed to repopulate Earth. Their bond is tested when a stranger arrives with alarming news". I mean, how can you not like a movie with a premise like that, a movie that also stars Hilary Swank and Australia's own Rose Byrne.
There are also a couple of movies that won't be coming to the Aussie version of Netflix anytime soon, and both just happen to be animated hits from the last year.
'Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet' (June 11) is a delightfully funny sequel that explores the interwebs in the same way that the first movie explored the world of video games. Then there's the Oscar-winning 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' (June 26), with its unique visuals, awesome soundtrack and a fulfilling storyline.
Some great movies are leaving Netflix in June, including 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' (June 5) and 'Apocalypse Now' and 'The Pianist' (June 15).

So that's the deal for June on the U.S. version of Netflix.
