It's both the end of a month and the start of a new one, and so there's plenty of new content to talk about, as we take a look at what's has been happening on Stan in the past week. We start with TV content as usual, and there are quite a few new series to talk about.
Starting with The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, the new mini-series is based on the best selling French novel of the same name, and follows a young writer who heads to Harry Quebert’s home for some inspiration. Instead, he finds that Harry’s been accused of murdering 15-year-old Nola Kellergan, who went missing years prior. The first 4 episodes of this show is already available for streaming, with new episodes coming weekly starting
There is also the new (to Stan) Australian series Newton's Law, a legal drama starring veteran actress Claudia Karvan.
Famous in Love may have been cancelled already, but you can still binge through the two seasons of the show that exists.
And then there's Heathers, the TV series based on the 1988 black comedy of the same name, was pre-cancelled by Paramount, partly in response its controversial portrayal of gun violence in schools.
There are quite a few interesting movie additions this week too. My personal fav might have to be sci-fi favourite District 9. I keep on waiting for a sequel, and there's been some rumours about one, but I'm not holding my breath.
An inside look into the life of Saddam Hussein and his sadistic son, Uday, is given in The Devil's Double, directed by New Zealand director Lee Tamahori.
And of course, there's the original Heathers, which might be worth a watch before you get on to the new TV series of the same name as mentioned above.
