There are some really big movies, big TV premiers and generally great stuff coming to Netflix in March. And for those keeping track, we seem to be getting better releases this month than compared to the US version of Netflix, which is not something that happens too frequently.

In TV, all the talk has been about the eagerly awaited season 2 of 'Marvel's Jessica Jones', coming on the 8th of March. Jessica Jones is back as the anti-heroine out to find out the mysteries of her past, and to bravely face the dangers of the present. It's been a long wait for season 2, let's hope it has been worth it.

A new comic book based Original Netflix series starts this month as well, with new episodes airing starting March 6th for 'Black Lightning'. It's the story of a retired superhero who has to return to his roots to face a present threat in his New Orleans community. This is based on the DC Comics character and stars Cress Williams ('Hearts of Dixie') as the titular character.

Other TV highlights includes a brand new season of 'Trailer Park Boys', revived by the good folks at Netflix in a way that only they can. There's also season 6 of 'Homeland' (available March 1) - we join Carrie Mathison (aka Carrie Orser and many other aliases, no doubt) as she's back in the States facing new threats. There's a bit of a dedication to the fairer sex going on in March thanks to International Women's Day on the 8th, and 'Jessica Jones', 'Homeland', Letterman's next interviewee, Malala Yousafzai, and a few of the big movies mentioned below all feed into the theme for the month.

For a bit of cooking fun, why not try 'Nailed It' (premiering March 9).

There are some pretty big movies too, as previously mentioned. The International Women's day celebrations continue with the premier of 'Wonder Woman' on the 20th - the hit movie is a must-watch, not just because it has a female lead, but mainly because it's an awesome movie.

There's also the Netflix original film 'Annihilation' (premiering on the 12th) - originally slated for a major theatrical release, Netflix secured the rights from Paramount when the studio started having doubts about its wider appeal, and so Netflix stepped in to offer a release route. This sci-fi thriller is based on the best selling book of the same name and stars Natalie Portman and is directed by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine, Never Let Me Go and Dredd).

There's also Best Picture winner 'Spotlight' (March 17), 'Warcraft' (March 22) and 'Cars 3' (March 18).

For classic Sci-Fi, make sure to check out 'I, Robot'.
