Spotify Streaming to PS3

Hi,

Thanks for your guide regarding Spotify Streaming. I've come here for some help as I'm stuck.

I've done everything required, but I can't even get as far as getting the DSBridge to launch.

I have the 3 files in %APPDATA%\Spotify and in SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash as I'm running Win7x64.

I've also tried running spotify.exe as Administrator and Compatibility mode as XP, but still no luck.

Any other ideas.

Does the DSBridge icon not

Does the DSBridge icon not show up at all, or is it just showing a red orb?

You might also need to plop the files into the 32-bit Flash folder at C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\, just to see if it might help.

Another fix I saw meant looking in the %APPDATA%\Spotify folder and removing a file called spotify.exe.redir, if it's present.

Also, I'm testing using the latest version of Flash (11.8.800.94), so since there are Flash related issues, I'd recommend updating to the latest version as well.

Streaming spotify via PS3 media server

Have followed all the instructions and everything is OK up to the final step.
Under the PS3MP I get to the directory "Web". Click on "Spotify-[FFmpeg Web Audio]"
It waits about 10 seconds and then has "this data type is not supported" DSbridge is active as well as spotify & PS3MP.I have adjusted "transcoding settings" but doesn't make a difference. Any ideas.

same issue - found a solution

I had the same issue where it says data type not supported. Previously it worked and I was streaming Spotify to the ps3 under the Mplayer transcoding settings. But I had not used it in a couple months. When I tried it again today I got the data type not supported. I uninstalled ps3 media server and downloaded the latest version and installed it. I had to go into Transcoding Settings and enable VLC Web Audio (Legacy). Now everything works perfectly.

Now I go through "Web" and "Spotify-VLC Web Audio (Legacy)" comes up and this works.

Yeah, this seems to be the

Yeah, this seems to be the best way to get around the problem. I think over time, the codecs and settings used by PMS may have changed and it causes the "Data type not supported" error, and a re-install usually fixes it.
