Big name (but small stature) movies, haunting award winners, and more great originals are all available in May on the Australian version of Netflix.
Starting with the Netflix Originals, Gérard Depardieu returns to the small screen and enters the political battleground in this eight episode French production, a first for Netflix. Proteges turn to rivals, and politics turns to crime in this gripping French drama that also stars Benoît Magimel.
Another first for Netflix is Chelsea Handler's new show, simply titled 'Chelsea'. It's a first for Netflix because the show, which airs new episodes three times a week, will be the first to have new weekly programming. Netflix has never been about timely content that you go back to every week (or day), and this new talk show will test if the formula works.
Adam Sandler's next Netflix film is also available in May. The Do Over, from the writer of Hall Pass and The Heartbreak Kid, sees Sandler take on the action comedy genre along with fellow comedian David Spade. The story centers around two old friends who, deciding their life needed a do-over, fake their own deaths and start all over again - which may not always be the best idea!
There are also new seasons of Bloodline and Grace and Frankie.
There's also some truly great movies coming to Netflix in May. The headliner has to be Marvel's Ant-Man, the pint-sized superhero punches way above his weight in this often hilarious addition to the Marvel universe (look out for Ant-Man's cameo in 'Captain America: Civil War').
There are also some great award winners available for instant and unlimited streaming in May, including Schindler's List, 12 Years A Slave, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Casino, Taxi Driver and Jerry Maguire. There's also all three Jaws films, classic comedies like There's Something About Mary, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Semi-Pro.
For TV, don't miss out on season 3 of Arrow and season 2 of The Originals.
