The Q4 2025 stats are out for the Australian streaming scene, and the decline of one platform helps a couple of others.
Thanks to data provided by streaming search engine JustWatch, we can finally see just how well each streaming service is doing in Australia for the fourth quarter of 2025.
HBO Max's second set of results could very well be its last. The Paramount/Warner merger could see HBO Max being absorbed into Paramount+, or merged into a brand new app. For now though, HBO Max's market share rose from 1% last quarter to 3%.
Netflix dropped one percentage point to 22% from the last quarter (down 4 percentage points year on year), Prime was steady at 20% (down 2 percentage points YoY), Disney+ was also steady at 19% (+2% YoY), Stan steady at 11% (+2% YoY), Paramount up one percentage point at 9% (+1% YoY), and Binge down one percentage point at 8% (-4% YoY).
In terms of changes in market share through the entirety of 2025, this is reflected in the second set of graphs shown below, with monthly changes shown in a slightly magnified fashion to show micro changes.
It's a lot easier to spot trends with the above set of graphs. Netflix, Prime, Binge on the slide, Disney+, Stan, Paramount+, HBO Max are picking up the slack.
