Welcome to the Binge Report, where we look at the most popular movies and original TV shows that Americans have been streaming in the last week. For those interested in Australian numbers (provided to us by streaming search engine JustWatch), please have a look here. You can read last week's report here.
The TV Time app (iPhone and Android) helps users organise their streaming plans. The data here is tracked from American users of the app and some shows listed are not available in Australia without the use of a suitable VPN.
"Prey" (Hulu) was the most-streamed movie for the weekend of August 5-7 2022, as the "Predator" prequel has really struck a note with fans of the franchise. Lightyear's arrival on Disney+ saw it finish in second, just ahead of Uncharted, which also finds a new home on Netflix (on the U.S. version, I'm afraid).
Apple TV+'s original movie "Luck" was 6th, while Wedding Season was 7th and "They/Them" (Peacock) was 8th.
Making way for all these changes by leaving the top 10 were the movies "Honor Society", "The Sea Beast", "Persuasion", "Spider-Man: No Way Home", "The Lost City", and "The Man from Toronto".

Netflix's Neil Gaiman superhero TV series The Sandman was the second most streamed original TV series for the week, and the most popular of the new arrivals to the top 10.
Also new to the top 10 were Uncoupled in 8th and "American Horror Stories" (Hulu) in 10th.
"The Umbrella Academy", "The Boys", and "Evil" all left the top 10.
