The last full week of 2019 is upon us, and Stan has provided lots of new exciting content to tide us over the holiday break.
Possibly Stan's most ambitious original yet, The Commons takes us to the near future, post climate change Sydney where acid rain, mega-storms, climate refugees and uncontrollable disease outbreaks are the norm. Stream the entire first season of this groundbreaking show right now on Stan.
After a nineteen (!!) year hiatus, SeaChange return for a new fourth season (or a new first season for the 2019 series)
And here's a UK series that comes from Amazon Prime (Stan gets a lot of Amazon content - hope they get 'The Man in the High Castle' soon) that has an interesting location and premise: Hong Kong, and a man whose wife has just died in the city and must now overcome his fear of flying to identify the body, before being dragged into a wider conspiracy (don't you hate it when that happens?). Stream the entire first season of The Hustle may not be the highest quality comedy ever made, but it's ... a comedy. And it has Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson in it.
Superior in quality is Ender's Game, which is better than the IMDb rating of 6.6 suggest it is.
There's more Spielberg movie goodness following last week's "dump" (for want of a better word). This week, it's Catch Me If You Can and the Indiana Jones quadrilogy of three good movies Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade. And Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
Three-quarters of Matt Damon mixed with one-quarter Jeremy Renner means only one thing - the Bourne pentalogy. Watch The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Bourne Legacy, and Jason Bourne right now!
And I've talked about the documentary Three Identical Strangers when it first arrived on Hulu in February. It details the story of a unique and somewhat cruel scientific study in which identical triplets were separated and raised by different families of different social economic status, and all three eventually discover each other. Tragedy eventually befalls one of the brothers, all of whom struggled with mental health issues.
