April is soon to be here, and with it, a new month of movie and TV goodies on Netflix Australia. Let's take a sneak peak at what we'll all be watching next month.
Starting with TV as we usually do, 'Lost in Space' is getting a 2018 reboot in this Netflix Original Series and it's either the greatest thing ever, à la 'Battlestar Galactica' (I really wish it was back on Netflix again), or it will make you go "was that really necessary?". Fingers crossed for the former when the full season 1 debuts April 13th.
Funnyman Joe McHale gets a new show on Netflix, surprisingly titled ;The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale' (new episodes starting 4/1/2018). You'll know him as the douche-bag fake lawyer guy with a heart of gold on 'Community', and more relevant here, as the host of 'The Soup' on E! - the new show is more of the same 'Soup', if you will.
Here's an interesting show whose trailer popped up in my Facebook feed the other day. 'Fastest Car' pits supercars against what's known as "sleeper cars", ordinary looking cars that are not so ordinary under the hood. Season 1 of the series debuts April 6th.

And finally in TV, Netflix's first Brazilian Original Series '3%' gets a second season debut on April 27th. The Dystopian has been very well received on Netflix, so now might be the time to get in on it with a quick season 1 binge if you haven't seen it yet.
Lots of movie additions too in April, and there's no way we can cover them all here, but here are some highlights nonetheless. 'The Week Of' (streaming April 27) is the latest Adam Sandler project on Netflix, and this time he has dragged Chris Rock into it. Let's hope it's better than his other Netflix projects.
'The Lobster' is an interesting film that you might have missed from 2015. Starring Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, this Dystopian comedy is set in a future where singles have 45 days to find "the one", or face the prospect of being turned into an animal (of their choice, to be fair). Yep, it already sounds like a great film, doesn't it? Find out on April 1st.
Bourne fans can binge through the first four movies on April 1, while 'Monty Python' fans may require medical attention if they actually do decide to binge through all of the new additions this month, where pretty much every Monty Python movie will be available to stream. Most of them arrive on April 15th, so you still have time to make arrangements.
With Netflix getting into the 'Cloverfield' game, the arrival of '10 Cloverfield Lane' on April 6th makes perfect sense as a way to complete the Cloverfield trilogy. It's, in my opinion, the best of the 'Cloverfield' films, and the one that's least 'Cloverfield', if you know what I mean.
I know there are those that find 'Interstellar' and its plot holes irritating, but from the visuals to the fantastic musical score and the heart pounding excitement, you really can't go too wrong with Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic. Streaming it starting April 5th.
And I know it's a bit old, but 'Speed' (arriving April 7th) was at the time of release one of the best action films ever made (again, plot holes and impossible bridge jumps be damned). You'll never look at taking the bus in the same way ever again.
And finally, I would just like to mention 'The Iron Giant' because it's featured in Steven Spielberg's latest epic 'Ready Player One'. You wouldn't expect an animated film about a giant robot to be so touching, and you also didn't expect it to do so poorly at the box office. If you're one of those, like myself, that failed to appreciate the film when it first came out, this is your now your chance (starting April 12) to correct that mistake.
