The last week of October brings some great new TV and film content on Stan.
There's not one but two new series that debuted on Stan last week. Claws is a dark comedy that follows the lives (and crimes) of five Floridian manicurists, while an exclusive preview of SMILF looks at single motherhood and has gotten some good reviews off of this pilot already - more episodes are coming November 13th, the same day as the US.
There are some great movies that have been added to Stan this past week. By far the most well known of these additions is probably Oscar Best Picture winner Moonlight - if you didn't catch the film at the cinemas (and based on its box office, you probably didn't), then this is a great chance to watch a great film. Also marketed as a potential award winner, but something that most critics didn't believe to be the case, is Collateral Beauty. It has been described as "Exploitative, Pretentious, Cynical", but there are also those that say it isn't nearly as bad as some of the reviews make out. Worth checking out just to settle the debate in your own mind, perhaps.
Much less controversial are the next three recommendations, Youth, The Great Beauty and Girlhood.
