Stan in March is has a great mixed bag of new content – adding to its burgeoning collection with plenty of choices for new and returning viewers.
Keep your Friday nights free and let Stan bring you best of Australia's stand up comedy, straight to your home without needing to brave the chilly Melbourne weather! Stan presents One Night Stan, filmed in front of a live audience at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Shows released weekly from March 24, six of the biggest names in live comedy. Will Anderson kicks off the season, followed by, Celia Pacqualoa (March 31), Tom Ballard (April 7), Sam Simmons (April 14), Judith Lucy (April 21), and Tom Gleeson (April 28) to round out the crowd.
Stan also updates its impressive library adding S2 of Underground (trailer) on March 9, releasing episodes on Thursday – same day as the USA. The ten episode series will continue in the aftermath of Macon 7's daring escape attempt. If Elementary is more your style, then Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and unconventional Lucy Liu as Dr Joan Watson arrives with S3 on March 15. Returning to New York with a new assistant, Kitty (Ophelia Lovibond), Holmes tries to restart his consulting business and also keep Dr Watson on side as she branches out as a private investigator for the NYPD. There are plenty of mysteries to solve, and more intricate relationships at hand, with a full, satisfying, 24 episode season to enjoy.
New TV series The Odd Couple (trailer) starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Edison as Oscar Madison and Felix Ungar, two college buddies who become unlikely roommates when their relationships break up. Exclusive to Stan, it lands March 10.
Fans of Adventure Time rejoice, as S4 to S7 available March 1, with S8 joining in on March 8. As this has only started airing on January 23 of this year, you'll be up to date with everyone else. Cartoon Network also threw in Regular show, (we already have S1 and 2) with S3 to 7 arriving on March 1.
There's plenty to keep young viewers company, with In The Night Garden S4, Rainbow Brite S1, Messy Goes to Okido S1, and Slugterra S1.
In celebration of Mardi Gras this month, we have several LGBTI movies to share with you. In the last movie starring Robin Williams - Boulevard (trailer), Nolan begins to question his life decisions and finds a new confidante and companion in young Leo. With Laurence Anyways (France trailer), directed by Xavier Dolan, Laurence (as a man) begins a journey to transform into his female self as a transgender woman.
Tomcat (German - trailer) follows a gay couple who live together with their pet cat Moses – their relationship is tested when a violent outburst shakes them to the core.
In other movies, there's Salmon Fishing on the Yemen (2001), based on the 2007 fictional release by Paul Torday. A fisheries consultant (Ewan McGregor) is asked to help find a way to import salmon in order to cultivate the sport of fly fishing. Also starring Emily Blunt and Amr Waked. If you're in the mood for horror and screams, pick Cabin in the Woods, (2012) by Joss Whedon. Five friends stay in a remote cabin and ….... you need to tune in to find out.
