Welcome again to our weekly feature where we look at the most popular streaming movies and TV shows in Australia based on data collected by streaming search engine JustWatch. Data includes subscription streaming as well as transactional streaming titles. Click here to read last week's roundup.

Movies:

With the Oscars having just concluded, there was obviously an enhanced interest in checking out the nominated films, and with the streamers eager to exploit this by releasing some of the films this past week. A Real Pain was second even though it missed out on a Best Picture nomination, but Nickel Boys was one of the nine, and was 4th on the chart.

The week also saw the sad passing of the great Gene Hackman, and there was a renewed interest in this films, including The French Connection in 5th and Under Suspicion in 7th.

The Forest Gump reunion found in Here was not enough to counter the negativity surrounding the film's concept and use of de-aging at the box office, but you can now check it out on streaming via Prime Video - it was 8th on the chart.

"SNL 50: The Anniversary Special", "Strange Darling", "Miss Meadows", "Bridget Jones's Diary", and "A Quiet Place: Day One" all left the top 10 this week.

The Disney+ documentary series Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke was the best ranked of the new releases, in 4th place.

The new season of "1923" (on Paramount+, first season on Prime Video) helped the show get back into the top 10, in 6th place.

The Rookie returned to the top 10, in 10th.

"High Potential", "Yellowjackets", and "The Day of the Jackal" all exited the top 10.
