A new Western epic, a thrilling mystery, and some great documentaries. These are just some of the highlights this week. Read on to find out more.
A new British crime mystery series, Smother, has just been added - you can stream the first three seasons of the show right now.
Kevin Costner's Horizon: An American Saga premieres on streaming, and the film in which he co-wrote, directs, stars and produces didn't have the best of times in cinemas and received mixed reviews, but bear in mind this is the first part of a four-part mega-epic, so maybe it's best to reserve judgement for now.
Don't Worry Darling (download 4K trailer) is the kind of mystery thriller I like, with a twist that you either see coming miles away, or will take you by surprise. The off-camera drama just adds to the spice of the film.
Beetlejuice has been re-added to this (and a few other) streaming platforms in anticipation of the long (and I mean long) awaited sequel that will make its theatrical debut this week. And Zach Braff's Garden State was a nice little indie film back when it was released.
Now I normally reserve this section for recommendations, but I cannot recommend Moonfall really. I love Roland Emmerich films, but this one is so forgettable that I started watching it last week only to realise 20 minutes in I've already seen it. That's never a good sign.
The World Movie pick of the week is Fabian: Going To The Dogs.
Stop Making Sense has been restored in 4K to celebrate the Talking Heads concert film's 40th anniversary. Considered to be one of the greatest concert films of all time.
Sex, Knives & Liposuction is exactly what the title says.
And finally, we have a series of sports documentaries Adam Hills: Foot Fault, Beyond the Dream: Forged in Steel, and Copa '71, and former two is a celebration of the Paralympics, while the latter celebrates women's football.
