Pandemic-fuelled albums, strike-affected award ceremonies, and quintessential '90s movies. These are just some of the highlights this week. Read on to find out more.
The complete series of the young adult comedy show Awkward has just been added to Stan.
The 81st Golden Globe Awards 2024 wasn't deleted too much by the writers' strike, but perhaps some of the preparation and comedy writing was, as host Jo Koy found out to his embarrassment.
This one has been here before, but The Loudest Voice is always worth a watch and goes some way to explain how the media can shape the political discourse in our very much screwed-up world.
Gillian Anderson's turn as Margaret Thatcher on The Crown was captivating, but Meryl Streep is in fantastic form as her in The Iron Lady.
These are two what I consider to be quintessential '90s movies, although many will probably disagree with the latter, not so much the former. Catch As Good As It Gets and Made In America and see for yourselves.
The Pandemic was a weird time, especially for our media-obsessed culture. Charli XCX: Alone Together looks at the making of the artist's pandemic album, and I think enough time has passed to make this one an interesting, and not at all panic-inducing watch.
