Welcome to the Binge Report, where we look at the most popular movies and original TV shows that Americans have been streaming in the last week. For those interested in Australian numbers (provided to us by streaming search engine JustWatch), please have a look here. You can read last week's report here.

The TV Time app (iPhone and Android) helps users organise their streaming plans. The data here is tracked from American users of the app and some shows listed are not available in Australia without the use of a suitable VPN.

Movies:

"The Menu" (simultaneously available on HBO Max and Hulu) was the most-streamed movie for the weekend of January 6 - January 8 2023. The delightful horror thriller is a real palate cleanser for the horror genre, featuring some terrific performances by all involved. Pair it with "The Bear" for an improved mouthfeel.

If Edgar Allan Poe needed an origin story, then The Pale Blue Eye, in 3rd, is probably what you're after.

"The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" and "The Invitation" left the top 10.

Streaming Originals:

The new season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch allowed the animated show to return to the top 10 in third place. The new season of Ginny & Georgia also helped it get back, to 4th.

And Netflix's experimental "watch it in any order" Kaleidoscope debuts in 8th.

"Emily in Paris", "Wednesday", and "The Witcher: Blood Origin" all left to make room.
