Some great TV shows and even greater movies have just arrived on Stan. Let's take a look, shall we?
The new comedy series from the people behind Parks & Rec stars Ed Helms and perhaps for the first time in prime time TV, a mostly Native American cast, Rutherford Falls has an interesting premise but it feels like a show that's still finding its footing. If it gets a second season, and you can stream the entire first season right now, it should get better.
Not needing to get better because it's already great, the second season of Godfather of Harlem has arrived and new episodes will be arriving weekly.
And just in time (sort of), the classic Aussie miniseries Anzacs is now available for streaming on Stan. And diggers of a different kind, and this week's new foreign TV series is Russia's Gold Diggers.
Starting with some of the new-ish (but not new, as in 2020 or later released movies) additions and one of the best Aussie films of recent times, The Dressmaker tells the story of sweet (and fashionable) revenge. Red 2 follows the original in bringing some fun to the action, while Westerns don't get much better than 3:10 to Yuma.
Slightly older is director Darren Aronofsky's Pi. If you've seen his other films, namely "The Fountain", "Black Swan", "Requiem for a Dream" and "Mother!", then you'd know what to expect (or rather, know to expect the unexpected).
And while Arsenal Football Club has been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently, the documentary 89 looks at a simpler time for the London club, during the reign of the majestic Liverpool teams of the late '80s, and how the club that hasn't won the league since 1971 took the competition to literally the last minute of the season.
