Welcome to the first Stan weekly roundup for 2020! It seems somewhat inappropriate to discuss what to binge-watch while many parts of Australia seems to have stepped into the post-climate change world of The Commons. Especially when we realise what a luxury it is to be able to sit down and watch something, anything, at the click of a button, and how easy some of the things we take for granted, like electricity, a phone signal and an Internet connection, can disappear just when we need it most. Watching movies, TV shows and documentaries can broaden our horizons, allow us to more deeply understand a problem and learn about potential solutions, and so in the long run, they do serve a purpose if we heed the lessons learned. For more immediate concerns, here are some ways you can help the current fire fighting and recovery efforts around Australia.
Several new series have just landed on Stan, as well as the return of a couple of favourites.
Another week, another Stan original. The Gloaming is a mix of crime and horror and it's the kind of prestige series normally with overseas origins. If it's anything like The Commons, you'll want to watch this one too.
This Australian mini-series is based on the movie of the same name, which has also just found a home on Stan this week. Watch all six episodes of the crime drama Mystery Road right now.

The mid-season (6) return of Power is joined by a new season of Doctor Who.
The Colour Of Darkness was shot in Melbourne and this cross-cultural love story focuses on the Indian community here in Australia, a community often ignored in media and entertainment.
Still Alice looks at the profound impact Alzheimer's disease makes on the life of linguistic professor Dr Alice Howland and her family, while pre-historic fun can be had in The Croods.
