Binge Report: 'Stranger Things' Knocked Off Binge Chart Top Spot (July 15 - July 21, 2019)

Poster for Money Heist Season 3

Netflix's Stranger Things has been replaced at the top of the TV Time's Binge Report top 10 chart by another Netflix original, the Spanish series Money Heist.

TV Time calculates a binge session as when a viewer watches four or more episodes of the same show within a given day, as tracked by the TV Time (iPhone and Android) App. With most of TV Time's users being in the U.S., the binge data used in this report is therefore mainly reflective of the U.S. audience, and some shows listed are not available in Australia without the use of a suitable VPN.

The release of the third season of 'Money Heist' was what helped the show propel to the top of the chart with a binge share of 13.14%, beating the 6.91% of 'Stranger Things'. It was also the only new addition to the top 10, with pretty much everything else staying the same (and with 'Riverdale' dropping out of the top 10 to make room). It's also interesting to see 'Glee' establishing itself in the top 10 at 5th this week - it could be one of those shows that will have binge longevity, although with Disney's acquisition of Fox, how long it will remain on Netflix (and not move to become a Disney owned Hulu exclusive) remains to be seen.
