It has been a busy week on Stan this past week, so let's take a more detailed look at what has just been added to the streaming network.
Making most of the headlines, and no doubt you've seen the ads too, is Sacha Baron Cohen's new show, Who Is America?. Taking a leaf out of his Ali G/Borat/Bruno days, Cohen is at it again, this time as brand new characters as he takes on a very much divided America. Sarah Palin, Dick Cheney, Bernie Sanders are among the political celebrities, along with everyday folk, that have been "fooled" this time by Cohen's many disguises. Should be good, satirical fun.
New series Get Shorty, based on the novel that has also been adapted into film previously also seems to be great fun, about a mobster who tries to turn straight by getting into the film business, only to find that it's not that easy to leave your past behind.
Other new series include Idiotsitter and the provocative Dating Naked (take that, Love Island).
On the movie front, there are also some interesting picks. My pick of the week goes to Jackie Chan's The Foreigner, a more serious Jackie Chan film and probably one of this recent best. For movies that you can re-watch time and time again, Slumdog Millionaire for me falls into this category too.
Daniel Radcliffe's career post Harry Potter has been a bit hit and miss, and Horns sits somewhere in between - worth a watch if you have the time. Fans of sports dramas, particular boxing films, should definitely check out Resurrecting the Champ.
Foreign film fans have South Korea's dark and unforgettable Haemoo and the France/Belgium/Tunisia/Morocco co-production Horses Of God to add to their watch lists.
