Some great shows coming through this May, just in time to rug up and chillax on these chilly nights.

Plenty of great series pick up this month, with finales of Designated Survivor S2, Riverdale S2, and coming back to us are ShadowHunters: Mortal Instruments S3, Dear White People S2, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt S4, The Toys That Made us S2, and Archer S8.

A few foreign language choices, such as The Rain (Danish), coming on May 4. Two teenagers emerge from an underground bunker after five years in hiding, to discover that most of the Scandinavian population has been wiped out by a waterbourne virus. They join a group of survivors to look for answers and learn more about what their up against. Trailer (www.youtube.com/watch?v=st6r-8mLW_o)

Busted (trailer) is a Korean comedy/variety show with Korean celebrities who are called in as detectives to solve mysteries. Amateur style improv and plenty of laughs, pop on your deduction cap and magnifying glass!

Anon (trailer) starring Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried from sci-fi director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca and In Time), is set in a not to distant future where you can see everything about anyone just by looking at them. Detective Sal Frieland enlists the help of a young woman who is anonymous and not found on the system, to find out more about unsolved murders in the city. Feels a little Ghost in the Shell with the premise of hacking done to databases and eyeballs – will be intriguing to see how Anon explores this alternative future.

Two more episodes of David Letterman in the mix this month, featuring Tina Fey (May 4th) and Howard Stern (May 31st). Filmed in front of a live audience, David works his trademark charisma and whip smart interviewing skills, teasing out new stories and letting us inside to the inner worlds of his famous guests.

Children's Corner
Comedy legend Carol Burnett teams up with young children to dish out advice and brainstorm new ways to solve problems. A Little Help with Carol Burnett (trailer) comes to Netflix May 4 to help shed some light.

Bill Nye (trailer) returns in Season 3 to focus on how science has help the environment, and how small steps like recycling, or even, upcycling before we dispose of products, can help create a sustainable future for all of us.

The Simpson Movie (2007 - trailer). If one episode if not enough, stretch out on the couch and you could watch this movie feature instead. Somehow managing to squeeze in nearly every Simpsons character, load it up with ridiculousness to the nth degree, also, Homer has to save the world from a disaster, and has Spider Pig to help him.

If you need a laugh, tune into Netflix special with Steve Martin and Martin Short: An evening you will forget for the rest of your life. Hitting it off after meeting on 'The Three Amigos' (1986), they've remained friends and have launched a tour this year. The special was filmed in their live show in South Carolina, and broadcasts on May 25. Or pick Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife as she extols the not-so-fun truths of marriage and motherhood, coming on May 13, Mother's Day!

See you next month, folks!
