Stan continues to impress with its exclusive content and clipping along with a packed schedule with weekly releases such as Ash vs Evil Dead, Billions, The Cartoon President, iZombie, unReal, with current season Will and Grace finale coming up on April 6.
Stan introduces two more exclusive series, The Circus S3 - The Biggest Story on Earth (trailer) - building on its previous series 'The Circus: Inside The Biggest Political Show on Earth' as a real time documentary following the progression of US President Donald Trump. Episodes released weekly starting April 15.
And Imposters S2 returns on April 6 (trailer), eps released Fridays. Con artist Maddie is on the run from Lenny (Umar Thurman) and tries to turn over a new leaf. Meanwhile Richard, Ezra and Jules join forces to pull themselves out of a tight spot.
For amazing female led drama, we welcome The Good Fight S1 (trailer) starring Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo and Rose Leslie. Set in the same universe as The Good Wife and following immediately after, we follow Diane Lockhart as she sets off on her own after her retirement investments are lost in the wake of the Rindell fund going under. With its trademark quips and whip smart writing, the show is brilliant and engaging in its own right, without relying on the former series.
For something light hearted, pick Trollied, Season 7, coming on April 25. The world of retail is busy, bewildering and bustling with plenty of characters and unexpected moments. The Valco store is about to open 2/47 for business, so the hunt is on for a new night manager. It'll keep you laughing in the aisles.
Or you could look up 'Live at the Apollo S12' (trailer) - with well known stand up comedians Arj Barker, Celia Pacquola, and Sam Simmons – and settle in for a great night of gags!
Tie in with BBC brings to us plenty of fantastic series – such as Scifi series Red Dwarf S1-11 (1988 to 1999 - trailer), Rillington Place, a three-part biographical crime drama about the case of serial killer John Christie (trailer), The latest season of Dr Who (season 10 - trailer), Top Gear s23 and S24 (trailer) with new host Matt LeBlanc, just to name a few!
For our younger audiences, look up Bananas and Pyjamas S2, Peter Rabbit Season 2, and Planet Earth II (2016 - trailer)
Here are some of the highlights for the movie additions in April. Theeb (2014 - trailer) (Arabic) BAFTA winner of outstanding debut by new director, focusses on the journey of Theeb, a young bedouin boy who survives in the Wade Rum desert.
It Comes at Night (2017 - trailer) Aussie hunk Joel Edgerton is Man of the house Paul who lives in a cabin in the woods with his family, securely locked away against the terrors at night. When they rescue another family, they warily come together for security, while on edge against the mysterious unknown, waiting for it to come through the red door.
It certainly isn't a patch on the original 1984 film, but the 2012 remake Red Dawn is interesting for at least two points. One, that is stars Australia's own Chris Hemsworth, and two, you may or may not notice that the "bad guys" in the film was quickly changed, in post production, from China to North Korea as an effort to salvage Chinese box office takings (which didn't work, as the film was not released in China). See if you can spot the changes.
