Stan: What's New For 12 - 18 July, 2016

Poster for Power - Season 3

Stan's strategy of locking in several "new episodes every week" shows, fast-tracked from the US, is ensuring there's always new TV content. And it's no different this week again, as you can see from the list below. But there were also plenty of new shows or new seasons available on Stan for the week.

The season 3 premier of Power and the first four seasons of the accurately funny Episodes are the real highlights of the week. Examining Australian society in closer detail are the two documentary series Living With The Enemy and The Great Australian Race Riot. Travel fans should definitely check out Lost Kingdoms of South America.

For movies, there's a real eclectic collection of flicks available for instant streaming on Stan. The Aussie/Hong Kong production The Man From Hong Kong is well worth checking out for fans of cult, kung fu films, and the Aussie involvement is a rare one for this genre. Also from the 70's, and also for fans of Barry Humphries, is The Adventures Of Barry McKenzie. The mini Aussie film festival continues with John Hargreaves's Long Weekend, Inn Of The Damned and Razorback.

My pick for the hidden gem of the week is the Indian production Umrika.
