Stan: What's New For 5 - 11 July, 2016

It's another new week on Stan, and once again, it's one where the highlights are with the movies, not the TV shows.

That's not to say that there aren't some great television on offer, but these are all the "new episodes every week" series that should be very familiar to readers of this feature.

For movies, there are some real foreign language classics, as well as a few contemporary ones for those looking for something a bit "newer". Z For Zachariah leads the "newer" releases, a perfect movie for post-apocalyptic movie junkies like myself. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor from "12 Years a Slave", Chris Pine and Australia's own Margot Robbie, this movie focuses less on the usual post-apocalyptic cliches, and instead, on the developing and dangerous love triangle between the three stars.

The other contemporary releases are all foreign language films, including the German film Beloved Sisters about a different kind, but equally dangerous love triangle. Also from 2014, the critically acclaimed, but (based on IMDb reviews) possibly controversial Israeli film Zero Motivation might be worth checking out if you want to form your own opinion.

There are three Fellini classics on offer this week too, with Nights Of Cabiria, 8 1/2 and of course La Dolce Vita. Hong Kong crime thriller Spl 2: A Time For The Consequences (also known as Kill Zone 2) rounds out this week's movies.

Here's a complete list of the new additions to Stan for the week 5 - 11 July, 2016:

The Last Ship - New Episodes
Containment - New Episodes
