The school holidays are over. And so if you're after adult, sexually explicit, and often disturbing entertainment, then this week's new stuff on Stan (the week of 11 - 17 July) is for you!
Let's first go over the more mainstream stuff, which can be done fairly quickly since most of the stuff this week would more naturally find a place late night on SBS than anywhere else (or not on commercial TV at all, not without heavy censorship).
We start with Aaron Eckhart's http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1645155/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1Erased, a nice an straight forward action thriller. A good start. For political thriller fans, we also have Lions for Lambs (some have called it boring, but I found it interesting enough). For TV fans, we have the third and fourth seasons of The Good Wife, along with season 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race, and the first two seasons of Timmy Time.
And yes, I'm putting Zombeavers in the mainstream category, because compared to some the rest, it's like a Disney movie.
Now for the rest. I'm going to start off with The Human Centipede (First Sequence), because it's actually the more mainstream (or at least the more well known) of this week's odd collection. The rest of the collection includes titles like 9 Songs, which I've seen described with the simple phrase "it is simply porn" (but you should hold your judgement until you've actually seen it, others says); Young People F**king (although not really as explicit as the title suggests); the critically acclaimed, but controversial Blue Is the Warmest Color (controversial not because of the topic or content, but the behind the scenes stuff between the director and actresses); the often banned Baise-Moi; the often explicit Stranger by the Lake ... I think you can see the pattern now.
