A pretty quiet week for new releases on Stan. The headlining release for the week, and somewhat unfortunate given the recent debate in the US over the flying of the Confederate flag, was the 2005 movie The Dukes of Hazzard. While the Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott movie remake of the classic TV series wasn't well received by critics and moviegoers, it was still the highest profile release for the week.
Those wanting a hidden gem (albeit not a very precious, valuable gem) might look towards Night Train to Lisbon, starring Jeremy Irons, based on the novel by Pascal Mercier.
Scarlett Johansson fans may have missed this when it first came out, The Nanny Diaries is worth a watch for those seeking light relief.
Other notable releases includes the Bindi Irwin led Return to Nim's Island, a sequel that proves once again that sequels are mostly rubbish, especially when you recast every major character, and then drop the one played by the irreplaceable Jodie Foster.
