Australian streaming provider Stan has signed a new agreement with Starz Digital to bring to Australian shores exclusively several new anticipated shows, including a TV adaptation of Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead.

Starz is the second biggest cable network in the US, and the season 2 of its new show Power broke all rating records for the network. 'Power', from executive producer and star Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife), is set in New York and chronicles life in the contrasting worlds of the glamorous club scene, as well as the seedy underbellies of the city's drug trade. The exclusive agreement with Starz means that the show, the entire first season plus the first two episodes of season 2, is now available for instant streaming on Stan.

Coming exclusively to Stan in November will be Flesh and Bone, a eight-hour limited series from 'Breaking Bad' writer Moira Walley-Beckett that explores New York's ballet scene.

And later this year will be the highly anticipated TV adaptation of the horror franchise 'The Evil Dead'. Titled Ash vs Evil Dead, the TV series will reunite original filmmakers Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert.

The new agreement also includes bringing to Stan the entire series of The White Queen, beginning in August.

“We’re committed to bringing the best premium, first-run TV shows exclusively to Stan at the same time as they’re available in the US. I can’t think of a better partner than Starz Digital to help fulfill those ambitions with their popular STARZ Original series programming,” says Nick Forward, Stan’s Content and Product Director.
