Starring comedian Jay Pharoah and Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, White Famous (trailer) focuses on a talented, young African-American comedian, Floyd Mooney (Pharoah), as he branches out to new audiences and tries to become 'white famous'. New eps every Monday, streaming same day as US.
Claws - S1 (trailer) drop on October 25. Set in Florida, five manicurists dip their well-groomed toes into the world of organised crime and money laundering for a nearby pain clinic, with unexpected results. Starring Carrie Preston (True Blood and The Good Wife), Niecy Nash (Scream Queens) and Judy Reyes (Scrubs).
Good Behaviour S2 (trailer) begins on Mondays October 16 – con artist Letty (Michelle Dockery) has tried her hand at being good, and now has the FBI on her back. On the run with her assassin boyfriend Javier (Juan Diego Botto), and son in tow, it's not long before her past catches up to her.
Just in time on Fridays to cheer us up, Will and Grace (trailer) continue on with their return to TV exclusive to Stan.
I'm pleased as punch that Penny Dreadfuls (trailer) are coming back with S3 on Oct 1 to seduce and beguile us. Coaxing us along to the dark side with literary characters Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, Sir Malcolm Murray (from Dracula), an American sharpshooter with a night time habit – and squeeze them all into a gothic set up and listen for the screams.
There's a supernatural sized hole in my schedule, and Stan must've heard us pleading for more; bringing all 264 episodes of Supernatural (up to current S12 - trailer) in the lead up to the new S13 starting this month. Bring yourself up to speed and start from the beginning – coming on Oct 20.
Philip K Dick continues to enthrall and wow us, with Electric Dreams eps continuing on Mondays. Based loosely on his many scifi works, and exclusive to Stan in Australia, the ten episode series will grab you and pull you in.
Homegrown talents Rob Shehadie and Tahir Bilgic write and direct Here come the Habibs (trailer). Loosely speaking, a Lebanese-Australian family win the lottery and move into the wealthy suburb of Vaucluse, much to the perturbed indignation of white-bread neighbours the O'Neill's. Tongue in cheek and plenty of awkward moments alongside a strong message of multicultural identity, this sitcom wants to show that laughter will bring people together.
Movies
Bridesmaids (trailer) with its sharp comedic talent and wonderful array of female leads boast plenty of 'oh no she didn't!' And laugh till your sides hurt moments. Starring Melissa McCarthy, Kirsten Wiig, Rose Byrne, so many more and John Hamm for the obligatory beefcake.
And finally in Passengers (trailer), two people wake up in the middle of a 120 year journey to repopulate a new world, and find themselves the only conscious people on the spaceship. Facing a possible lifetime of forced isolation while their fellow humans are asleep – Jim and Aurora start to grow closer together.
