It's the end and the beginning, of 2016 and 2017, and Stan is serving up some seriously good entertainment for the New Year.
You must have been living under a rock (or avoided looking at posters, watching and listening to TV and radio ads, or reading this website) if you don't already know that the new season of Penny Dreadful (like a proper season, 10 episodes and all!).
Over at the movies section, do and see Short Term 12, featuring a fantastic pre 'Room' Brie Larson. It's one of those movies that may have escaped your attention, as is the sci-fi thriller Automata.
Do not confuse Alison Brie with Brie Larson, but Brie (the Alison one) stars in Sleeping with Other People, a rom-com that you'll either love or hate (or be bored because better films have done it before, *ahem* Harry *cough* Sally).
Those looking to sober up after New Year's festivities could do no better than watch Dirty Wars.
