Once again, Hulu offers up a plethora of streaming content to see you through the month of August. There are season premieres and season finales but in particular, this new haul is sure to impress movie buffs looking to revisit some old gems. Let’s take a look at some highlights.

Comedy series, Casual, follows the lives of newly divorced single mum, Valerie (Michaela Watkins) and her bachelor brother, Alex (Tommy Dewey), who find themselves living together once again. As each of them stumble through the minefield of dating, the situation is further complicated by Valerie’s teen daughter who also lives with them. The Season 2 finale is available from August 23.

New comedy reality show, Better Late Than Never, premieres August 24. Cultural icons Henry Winkler (aka The Fonz in Happy Days), George Foreman (heavyweight boxing champion and health grill spruiker), William Shatner (veteran actor best known as Captain Kirk in Star Trek) and Terry Bradshaw (former American NFL star turned media personality) go on an unforgettable adventure when they travel through Asia together. The only “help” they’re afforded on their journey comes from comedian, Jeff Dye, whose main mission appears to be sending the four off track. In typical reality TV style, these fish-out-of-water scenarios are milked for maximum laughs but hopefully there’ll be moments of heart, too.

For something quite different, consider checking out Black Jesus: Season 2. Jesus (Gerald ‘Slink’ Johnson) is a street-smart saviour spreading the message of love and kindness throughout Compton, an L.A. neighbourhood whose gang violence gained infamy via the music of rap artists like NWA. The comedy series comes from Aaron McGruder, creator of animated series, The Boondocks.

For a dose of long-form action, tune in to Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation in which Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and team take on their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the Syndicate - an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are. If you’re a fan of the MI franchise then this should scratch the “Cruise performing all his own death-defying stunts” itch.

If nostalgia is more your thing, why not revisit the 1995 cult classic The Usual Suspects. A crime mystery with a killer twist, it was Kevin Spacey’s (House of Cards) breakout role and ultimately won him an Oscar. Or maybe you prefer your thrillers with a side of fava beans in which case, don’t miss The Silence of the Lambs, streaming from August 1. Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins are unforgettable in their respective roles as young FBI agent, Clarice Starling and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a serial killer with a propensity for eating his victims. The movie cleaned up at the Oscars in 1992 with wins for Foster, Hopkins, the director, Jonathan Demme (Married to the Mob) and took out Best Screenplay and Best Picture. Impressive.

If something lighter but no less classic is more your style, then Clerks and Chasing Amy have your name all over them. From director, Kevin Smith (Zack and Miri Make a Porno), both films feature the iconic Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith). And on the subject of comic duos of another decade, who can forget Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) and their excellent adventure? Dude, it’s been 27 years since Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure hit screens and changed lives – mostly Reeves’ who went on to become a major Hollywood star. Whoa.
