Disney+ Australia: What's New For November 27 - December 15, 2019

Poster for One Day at Disney
Sean Fang Wed, 27/11/2019 - 10:37

This is the first in a regular series of articles previewing what will be arriving on the Australian and New Zealand version of Disney+/Disney Plus in the near future.

Disney+ still so new, so we really don't have any idea what kind of content update schedule it will be following. Until now. Writing our first "What's New" for Disney+, it appears that Fridays are a big day for Disney+, as is the start of the month for the addition of new content from the famous Disney vault.

The show that has gotten the most attention so far has to be 'The Mandalorian', with new episodes coming every Friday (at 12:01 am U.S. PT, which is 7:01 pm AEDT), you can already read the synopsis for the future episodes below (which isn't giving much away, to be honest).

The big new show coming to Disney+ for the first half of December is 'One Day At Disney', a 52+ episode documentary series on the men and women behind the magic, including animators such as Eric Goldberg, who created the Genie in Aladdin and many other characters, or Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studio’s head of visual development. The series starts with a feature-length episode on December 3, with new episodes coming every, you guessed it, Friday. I've since watched part of a screener of the first episode, and it's everything you would expect - an ode to the people behind the magic at Disney.

Still from The Mandalorian

I'm also personally looking forward to episode 6 of 'The World According to Jeff Goldblum', in which Goldblum gives us his unique take on the topic of video gaming. Catch this episode on December 13.

And on the first of December, an influx of content arrives with multiple seasons of 'Henry Hugglemonster' (Seasons 1-2), 'Miles From Tomorrowland' (Seasons 1-3), 'Sheriff Callie’s Wild West' (Seasons 1-2), and 'Star vs. The Forces of Evil'.

Still from Anastasia

There's also the addition of 'Anastasia' and 'Garfield' from the Fox equivalent of the Disney vault. The first two seasons of the Nat Geo series 'Supercar Megabuild' arrives too on that day.

------

So plenty of new stuff in the first-ever Disney+ update and I'm sure more will be arriving soon once the talented team behind Disney+ get into the rhythm of things.

Star vs. the forces of evil (seasons 1-4) is’nt on Disney+ Australia yet it was list on coming on December 1st what’s the hold up?

Yeah, don't know what's happened there. It was scheduled to arrive first of December, but it only became available on the U.S. version of Disney+. Must be some unexpected licensing issue. I'll ask around with my contacts to see what happened.
